fees & out-of-network

Clear expectations about payment and reimbursement.

The first step is a free, brief telephone screening to discuss whether Dr. Berchick’s services may be suitable. The practice is out of network and does not accept insurance or third-party payment.

private pay

The practice does not bill insurance directly.

The practice is out of network and does not accept Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, or other third-party payers. You pay the practice directly. You may ask your insurer whether your plan offers partial out-of-network reimbursement; coverage and any reimbursement amount are not guaranteed.

Your insurer decides whether it will pay anything. No one can promise coverage, reimbursement, or a specific amount.

Your plan may ask for a claim, receipt, diagnosis, or care details. Ask what it needs before you submit a claim. Then you can decide what to share. Receipts are available on request.

Ask your plan directly about its out-of-network benefits and any documentation it requires before you decide whether to submit a claim.

diagnostic and treatment evaluation

Begin with a careful evaluation.

The Diagnostic and Treatment Evaluation costs $265.00. It includes an approximately 90-minute initial meeting, followed by a paper self-report for you to complete and return. Dr. Berchick spends roughly 1–1½ hours preparing by reviewing that information. A follow-up clinical interview, normally at least 90 minutes, is then used to determine fit and discuss a proposed treatment outline.

weekly sessions

Treatment length follows your goals.

After the evaluation, we can decide together whether weekly sessions fit. Treatment length depends on your goals and concerns. Some may need less time; long-standing patterns may need more. We review progress as we go. There is no set number of sessions.

good faith estimate

Know your rights when you do not use insurance.

CMS says people who do not use insurance can usually ask for a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. You often receive one when care is scheduled at least three business days ahead. It is not a bill, and it does not determine what an insurer will repay.

Confirm the current written estimate and charges before care begins. This page provides practice fees and general information, not personal legal, insurance, or billing advice.

next step

Bring your questions to a brief screening.

A free, brief telephone screening is a practical place to discuss fit, online access, evaluation timing, payment information, and what has been confirmed for your situation.
